Aromatherapy for kids:
Aromatherapy is not new to the dictionary in paediatric health and well being. The essential oils are not only used by the spa loving adults but are also used by kids. Some oils may be too strong or overwhelming fro children. But there are many other safe and gentle oils that can be used by anybody for regular use.
These oils can be used to fight against cold, mid exam blues and to avoid getting infected with various diseases. However before introducing it to the kids, one has to consult a aromatherapy specialist or a practitioner.
According to one of the well known aromatherapy practitioner, Mrs Cristina Carrion ” when used appropriately armatherapy is extremely beneficial for children, as the ingredients used are safe, organic and natural. Essential oils can be used independently or in conjuction with allopathic treatments to overcome a variety of illness. They may even help in dealing with psychological and behavioral problems.”
Babies develop the sense of smelling from the second month onwards. They identify the fragrance of various products and react accordingly. Thus they become more responsive to the benefits of aromatherapy.
Since the extracted oils are highly concentrated, they must be diluted in water in appropriate ratio to avoid irritation and various side effects to the baby. Regular use of aromatherapy will help improve the immune system of the kids.
