Your home can present many hazards for the baby. Areas such as the bathroom, staircase, kitchen etc. can be dangerous to your baby. To prevent this, you can child proof your home using baby safety gates. Child safety gates are designed to block your child’s access to certain areas which might be pose a danger.
Child safety gates can be used in between the rooms to block certain areas of your home. They can also be used on the top and bottom of the staircase to prevent the baby from falling down the stairs. Installing baby safety gates can ensure your child’s safety and and can give you peace of mind.
Types of Child Safety Gates:
The following are the types of child safety gates:
- Hardware mounted gates: Hardware mounted gates are to be secured to the doorway with screws. They are more stable and do not come loose. They can be used in between the doorways and at top of the staircase where more protection is required
- Pressure mounted gates: Pressure mounted gates use pressure to stay up. They are easy to install but are not as sturdy as hardware mounted gates. They can be used between the rooms and at the bottom of the staircase.
At places where you need added security, installing hardware mounted gates is recommended. During the installation of the gate, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instruction.
Child safety gates are suitable for children who are 6 to 24 months old. Once, you are confident of your child’s ability to walk and climb stairs safely, you can remove the child safety gates.
