Children love milk. Even adults drink it too. It is considered to be a health food. But some feel otherwise. What do they have to say?
Why Milk is all that Bad?
- Precious enzymes get destroyed during the process of pasteurization makes digestion of milk difficult. The pancreas cannot always produce these enzymes. Pancreas, if over stressed can cause diabetes and several other diseases
- We have homogenized butterfat in commercial milk which is subjected to rancidity. The butterfat is removed. Skimmed milk is considered to be a health food. Actually, the butterfat helps in the aborption and utilization of minerals and vitamin in the water element of the milk. Butterfat is a good source of preformed Vitamin A
- Synthetic Vitamin D is, which is considered to be toxic for the liver, is added as a substitute to the natural Vitamin D in butterfat
- Butter fat contains re-arranged acids having strong anti-carcinogenic properties
- Non-fat dried milk is added to the milk at the ratio of 1% to 2% . The cholesterol in the fresh milk has health promoting properties. But the cholesterol found in non-fat dried milk is oxidized. Such rancid cholesterol can cause heart disease
- The Bovine Growth Hormome approved by FDA and used by dairy farmers to increase milk production can enhance the insulin- growth factor (IGF-1), which can transform human breast cells into cancerous forms. This IGF-1 is also considered to be a growth factor for the existing colon cancer cells and cancerous breast. The BGH can also be absorbed directly from milk. This leads to more IGF-1 production by our own cells. The BGH decreases the body fat in cows. The body fat of cows contains a lot of carcinogens, pesticides, antibiotic residues. As the body fat reduces, these toxic elements pass onto the cow’s milk.
- Cow’s milk contains large amounts of phosphorous, which prevents you from absorbing calcium from the milk. The protein in the milk also increases calcium excretion from the blood through the kidneys
Naturally, milk does not appear all that good. But we need it as our daily menu. Yet we can think about it and choose to drink that which is good for our health.
