Children love to play with toys. You present a child with a toy and you will make his or her day. Toys make lovely gifts. There is much to choose from. Some shops specifically cater to toys. Parents indulge their children by buying toys. But can any toy make a child happy? Does one need to carefully select them?
Parents should not rush matters and buy any toy that comes their way. They should devote sufficient time in selecting the best – that which suits the temperament of the child, and is safe to play with.

- Parents can use magazines and books to play with their children. These contain a lot of general knowledge information, which can promote learning in the child
- One should limit the video and computer game play timings. Children should not watch too many of them
- Toys should also be safe and made of nontoxic material
- Toys should teach children how to be independent
- Team play and sharing skills should also be cultivated
- Motor skills should be developed
- One must choose the right toy for the child taking into consideration his likes and dislikes and age
Think twice before you buy a toy. Make sure that the child will like to play with it. It should not cause any harm to the child. On the other hand, it should provide immense pleasure.
