Parents need to nurture the creativity in the child. A creative mind contributes well in many ways- knowledge-wise and learning-wise. A creative child excels well at school and shines among his or her peer group. One needs to develop creativity. How?
Tips to Develop Child Creativity
- One must show a child and not tell him or her to do a particular thing
- The child should not suffer from any fears
- One must not constantly observe the child. The child should feel free to do certain things
- The child should not constantly worry about how he or she is doing
- Too much of rewarding is not advisable. It deprives the child of the pleasure of experiencing creativity
- Competition also affects creativity. The child should not be in a win-lose situation
- One must not always tell a child what to do. It affects originality. The child should discover for himself or herself
- One must not restrict choices. The child should be allowed to choose whatever he or she feels best to take on
- Pressurizing the child to meet up to high expectations can kill creativity
- Acting in a play with the help of homemade items and self-created story can bring forth the creativity in a child
- Dancing is creative form of expressing one’s feeling and thoughts. Children interested in music and dance can find this form of creativity very encouraging and lively
- An environment should be created that allows the child to play and explore without any kind of restraints
- One must adapt the child’s ideas, rather than judge him or her on the basis of an adult viewpoint
- The art supplies should be ready for the child to express his or creativity whenever he or she feels doing so
- The child should be free to mess up things as he or she is not always clean, while being creative
Parents have a major responsibility in nurturing the creativity in a child. The child should be given full freedom to do what he or she wants. No restrictions should be placed in his or her expressions. Adequate facilities should be provided for the child to bring forth his or her creativity. In a free atmosphere, a child can contribute well.
