How to Juggle your Job And Child?
- One should plan one’s schedule and activities, since one is time pressed and under pressure, it is very important to be prepared well ahead for both the responsibility
- One should develop one’s organizational skills. One has to manage all the affairs, both household chores and office work well
- Have backup plans of taking care of the child in emergencies. If the child falls ill arrange for someone to take care of him or her in case the regular nanny does not turn up. Some child centers do not allow a sick child. Sort out the matter with the boss. Perhaps you can take leave or maybe telecommute. Accumulate leave for such situations
- Keep trusted babysitter or nanny to take care of the child
- You can also send the child to a child care center
- Be aware of all the benefits offered by your organization, such as maternity benefits
- If it is possible to go part-time, then do so
- Seek the help of your partner. Each one can take turns to look after the child
- One can go in for an au pair who stays with the family. An au pair helps with light house work
- Family help will also help. Grandparents can take care of the child when required
A working parent is undoubtedly under stress, as he or she has to juggle job and child. One need not feel despaired. Take necessary support when required. You can have an understanding with your boss so that when required you can be at home to take care of your child. Some jobs have flexible timings.
