Every mother complains that her child doesn’t savor fruits and vegetables as much as he/she savors candies and junk foods. How often have you seen the likes of Dennis and Calvin detest the greens. Well here are some tips for mothers desperate to make their children eat vegetables.
- Sandwich – Here is a quick tip. Instead of adding jams or just peanut butter to your kid’s sandwich, you could try this. You could place a couple of thin slices of cucumber and a couple of thin slices of tomatoes place it in between the slices of bread and add a scoop of seasoned mayonnaise. Seal and grill. It will taste yummy.
- Pizza – Many children love pizza. So instead of taking your little one to the pizza joint in your town, make your own pizza. You can buy the pizza base. Toast the pizza base slightly on the pan, spread the tomato spread (now a days you have special pizza spreads). Chop your veggies finely and sauté them. You can use peppers, mushrooms, carrots and spinach too. Put a layer of these veggies on the pizza base and cover with cheese. Put it in the microwave till the cheese melts.
- Shawarma Rolls – This is a very popular Arabian and Mediterranean food. Knead some Wheat flour and roll it on a flat surface until you have a nice thin circle. Cook it over a flat pan with a little oil until its done. Now place some roasted chicken shreds, shredded onions, cabbage, carrots and cucumber. Add a blob of garlic mayonnaise, roll it and give it to your child.
- Burger – You can conceal a lot of veggies like cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and even spinach within your burgers. Make them at home for better results.
- Chinese Fried Noodles – This one wonderful way of making noodles with loads of veggies, you can add bell peppers, cabbage, spring onions, onions, carrots, and French beans. Toss these veggies with boiled Hakka Noodles in a wok with a little oil on high flame. Add salt, soy sauce and crushed peppercorns. Serve hot with tomato sauce. Your kid wont deny it.
