The first year of your baby’s diet is the most important year. It is during this period that 80% of the brain is developed. Wrong or insufficient diets may cause developmental problems or problems related to growth. Right diet does not mean good and rich food but it means Balanced diet of different kinds of food.
Here are some ways to give your child a proper balanced diet.
- In the first four months breast milk is the best for your child. The next two months the baby should be given additional foods because just breast milk is not enough. Babies older than the age of one cannot get enough nutrition from breast milk.
- Doctors do not suggest cow’s milk for babies under 1 years of age, if the baby is not breast fed then ready made baby food is the best solution. You should always consult a doctor before buying a baby food.
- When you buy baby food keep in mind that the baby food you are buying should have similar amount of protein to breast milk, it should be low in minerals and should have similar carbohydrates and oils to milk.
Home Made Recipes for Your Baby
Yoghurt
Ingredients:
- 1 tea spoon of yoghurt
- Powder baby food 2
Procedure:
- Add 90 ml of water to 3 containers of powder baby food and mix them with a lukewarm yeast and 1 tea spoon of yoghurt. Cover this mixture with a cloth and wait for it ferment for 3-4 hours.
Apricot puree and molasses breakfast (25 minutes / serves 1)
Ingredients:
- 4-5 dry apricots
- 2 spoons boiled rice
- Breakfast Time Molasses
- Powder baby food 2
Procedure:
- Put dry apricots in a sauce pan and add 375 ml of warm water
- Cook 20 minutes until apricots soften Smash apricots in the water used to boil them
- Mix powder baby food 2 with molasses as instructed in the package First add 1 spoon of the mixture of apricots to the Breakfast time with molasses mixture and then add the rest and stir.
Apple puree and breakfast time with cheese (10 minutes / serves 1
Ingredients:
- ½ apple
- 20 g yoghurt
- 20 g cherry marmalade (without seeds)
- Breakfast time with cheese
- Powder baby food 2
Procedure:
- Peel the apples and chop them. Boil peeled and chopped apples and mash them.
- Prepare the Breakfast Time with Cheese together with powder baby food 2 according to instructions and then add mix them with yoghurt, cherry marmalade and apple puree.
Fruits with Breakfast Time Molasses (10 minutes / serves 1)
Ingredients:
- 4-5 nuts
- ½ banana
- Breakfast Time Molasses
- Baby milk 3
- Chop nuts in tiny pieces.
Procedure:
- Mash banana. Mix baby milk 3 with Breakfast time molasses as instructed in the package. Add nuts and mashed banana to the Breakfast time molasses.
- Your baby will have a balanced diet if the right food is given.
