Everyone likes shopping. Many times we take our children for shopping to enjoy the day or buy the items they like to make them feel happy. But children need utmost care and attention during shopping to avoid child injuries, fractures or mishaps. Especially, children under the age of five need more attention during shopping.
According to paediatricians the most common type of injury which children face during shopping are fractures and most injuries are to the head and neck. Most injuries were caused by the child falling from the seat at the top of the trolley or from the side of the trolley while clinging on to it.
Following are some important tips on how to shop with kids:
- Don’t leave the child alone in the trolley because their idea of fun will not be confined to the trolley, especially when the supermarket aisles are full of interesting looking things.
- Don’t allow an older child to climb on the trolley or push.
- Present your child a toy or other playable accessories to distract his concentration from other things around.
